At Study Nook, we believe every child learns differently – especially our neuro-sparkly learners. That's why we've developed a structured, evidence-based approach that puts your child at the centre of everything we do.
From the initial Diagnostic Assessment through to ongoing progress tracking, we work in partnership with you, your child's school and educators to create the best possible learning outcomes. Here's how we make learning spark.
When?
30min or 45min weekly sessions with home learning tasks provided for follow-up support
Where?
Preferably at school during school hours as arranged in partnership with the school. We also offer after-school sessions at our Study Nook locations and online sessions for flexibility.
Why?
Because we want to help children enjoy being at school, love learning, work comfortably in a busy classroom environment, reach their full potential, feel a sense of pride in their achievements, and move onto high school (and beyond) independently with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
How?
Our learning sessions are either one-to-one, in pairs (as agreed by the parents) or in a small group – this is typically for a Maths learning group.
Each session is device-free and run as follows:
- In Person – Using a pencil, books, highlighters, counters, sound cards and a mini whiteboards.
- Weekly Reports – Sent by email and available through our TutorBird parent portal.
- Term Assessments – For Maths students only; results are sent by email and are available on TutorBird.
- Bi-Annual Learning Updates – For Structured Literacy students only; results are sent by email and are available on TutorBird. If parents opt for a full Learning Update, a Zoom call is also included.
- TutorBird – Our parent portal for you to check your child's progress, access learning notes and home learning, check our calendar for your booking, and more. You can also give access to your child's teacher(s) and other caregivers.
